AMRIT DHIR

Amrit is the Director of Business Development for Sidewalk Labs, Alphabet Inc.'s urban innovation arm. He is responsible for advancing the commercial value of Sidewalk's technology products to achieve the greatest possible impact on city life. He brings to this role close to a decade of experience leading new business development and operations for some of Alphabet's most innovative products and groundbreaking technologies: projects in Google Research and AI; X (formerly Google X); Verily (formerly Google Life Sciences); and Google Arts & Culture. He also built up the Global Operations and Connections functions for Google for Startups, roles through which he empowered external innovators and launched a network of physical spaces for entrepreneurs in seven cities across three continents. Amrit received his JD from Harvard Law School, his MA in Media Culture from Maastricht University, and his BA in International Studies from Emory University. Originally from Los Angeles, he has managed to call close to a dozen cities "home" along the way to his current quarters in New York City. He is additionally a regular volunteer, an angel investor, a metalhead, an aimless writer, a dabbler in languages (bonus points if you can guess which ones), the Hakeem Olajuwon of fantasy sports, and walking.
