CAMILA PEREIRA
Camila is the Education Director of Lemann Foundation, a family foundation dedicated to making Brazil a more just and developed country. In her position, she oversees the Foundation’s efforts to guarantee access to high-quality public education for every kid in Brazil. Leading a high-performing team of 20 people and coordinating the efforts of 23 grantee organizations, her main focus at the Lemann Foundation in recent years has been first, to foster the development and implementation of effective education policies, working closely with key decision makers in the country; and second, to accelerate student learning, partnering directly with 50+ school districts across Brazil. In her previous roles at the organization, she led the Foundation’s partnerships with top universities around the world, such as Harvard, Stanford, Columbia and Oxford, to train Brazilian leaders committed to social impact and to create meaningful collaborations between Brazil and these institutions. Before joining Lemann Foundation, Camila worked as an editor in the Brazil’s biggest weekly magazine, writing about politics and education. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of social impact organizations such as Nova Escola, Instituto Reúna and the Center for Innovation in Brazilian Education (Cieb). Camila has also mentored in programs like Columbia Women's Leadership Network in Brazil and Ensina Brasil (the Brazilian affiliate of Teach for All).
